ABOUT US
Highland Pictures brings together seasoned filmmakers Pip Gilmour and Alan Martin, whose combined talents have produced hundreds of hours of television programs.
For over 20 years, we’ve told stories of innovation, adventure and the extraordinary human spirit. If television has taught us anything, it’s how to visually capture and captivate an audience.

PIP GILMOUR
Co-President
and Executive Producer
Pip recalls making her first film in 4th grade and knowing she’d found her calling. After graduating film school she worked on a PBS series and found herself on-location in El Salvador during the Civil War. Since then she has uncovered stories around the globe and continued to work in politically or physically challenging locations. In 2004, she was asked to put her storytelling talents and tough location experience to the issue of prison rape. It evolved into a multi-part series for the National Institute of Corrections and launched Pip’s first company Pip Gilmour Productions. Since then her company has produced television series for networks, government institutions, non-profits and museums.

ALAN MARTIN
Co-President
and Executive Producer
Alan was born a film fanatic and developed a passion for story telling as a student of history. His first foray into TV production was co-developing a PBS documentary about Senator J. W. Fulbright and his epic showdown with President Lyndon Johnson over the Vietnam War. Alan was hooked and soon began producing and writing historical documentaries for cable broadcast including the Discovery Networks. Seven years later he started his own company Hawkeye Films and never looked back. Since then Alan has traveled to the far corners of the world, from chasing bush pilots through dangerous williwaws over the Aleutian Islands to hunting poisonous vipers with Irula tribesmen in southern India.
